Lisbie Rae hosts a class of healing music and yoga outdoors on her farm near Freelton. Cheryl Durst leads flowing yoga poses to Brian Wall’s beautiful music on harp, sitar, violin and djembe. Music has an immense power to express our feelings and raise our consciousness. The intention behind Healing Music and Yoga is to create a positive, healing environment that allows yoga students to go deeper in their practice. Music calls our awareness to the present moment and calms the senses, releasing tensions and anxiety. We are then more able to generate feelings of compassion towards ourselves and others. The class: improvisational melodies and rhythms flow as Brian subtly interacts with Cheryl’s instructions and flows with the rhythms of the asanas. Whether softly floating on the harp, or providing grounding rhythms on the djembe, Brian moves with the class as one unit, finally ending with a shavasana accompanied by voice, sitar and Celtic harp. www.myspace.com/healingmusicandyogaproject Biographies Brian Wall has been studying and performing Celtic, western classical, and Indian classical music for over ten years.
